Arrival at airport, meeting, assistance and transfer to Amman.
The day begins with a walk along the Abraham Path. We walk about four kilometers from Rasoun to Orjan on narrow country roads and through vibrant villages. We also visit Ajlun where you will view the only Islamic castle in Jordan. And you can enjoy the panoramic views of the green surroundings.
We visit Bethany, the alleged baptism place of John the Baptist in the Jordan. On the other side of the river is Israel, a stone’s throw away. Then we go to Mount Nebo where Moses looked over the Promised Land, and you find the monument of the Bronze Serpent. Then we descend to visit the Dead Sea, about 600 m. Below sea level and with the deepest point on Earth. There is opportunity to increase the salt water, a sensational experience! Through the Wadi Araba drives we drive south to Aqaba where we spend two nights in this charming seaside resort on the Red Sea.
Free Day!! There is plenty of opportunity to swim e.g. or snorkel in the Red Sea. Or you can make a ride in a glass bottom boat to “dry” to enjoy the underwater flora and fauna (optional excursion).
During the morning we leave Aqaba and drive to Wadi Rum, one of the most beautiful desert landscapes of Jordan with massive mountains and reddish sands. To experience the diversity and beauty of the desert we make a spectacular jeep tour. For lovers it is possible to take a ride on the “ship of the desert”, the dromedary (optional excursion). The night we spend in a Bedouin camp under the stars. There awaits us a special dinner with typical Jordanian dishes and oriental music. An unforgettable experience!
After breakfast drive to Dana, an idyllic village spectacularly situated at the top of a gorge in the same nature reserve. In this beautiful environment many birds, reptiles and other animals. With a ranger we walk through a part of this area. Later in the day we visit Al-Beidha, also called Little Petra. This ruined city is thousands of years old and along with Jericho one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Middle East. This visit is a preview for tomorrow, when we visit Petra.
An absolute highlight of the trip through Jordan’s visit to the mysterious rock city of Petra. Pass 200 years ago this mystery thousands of years old city was discovered in a secluded valley. To achieve Petra we walk through an approximately 1 km long narrow gorge, the Siq. Unforgettable is the moment when you reach the end of the gap, suddenly, between the rugged mountainsides discovers the treasure! With our guide we wander through this town built by the Nabateans carved out fact from the rocks. You can see numerous tomb facade, tombs and temples, as well as a small theater and fine columnar street. Experienced hikers can uphill to the monastery and enjoy the views of this wonder of the world.
Again a full day, literally, highlights on the program. The spectacular King’s Highway we drive to the north. Along the way the guide will entertain us with many stories of this ancient road used by merchants, armies and pilgrims. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the “Grand Canyon” of Jordan, Wadi Mujib. In the afternoon we visit Madaba, where you can admire the world-famous mosaic floor in the St. George Church. This masterpiece consists of more than 2 million colored pebbles and has a view of Jerusalem and the Nile Delta from the days of Moses. After an impressive day we arrive in Amman where we stay two more nights.
The day begins with a visit to the excavations at the Roman city of Jerash, located on a plain surrounded by fertile hills with olive and orange trees. In the 8th century Jerash was largely covered with sand during an earthquake. As a result, the theater, temples, markets and streets remained so cool preserved that worthy name a comparison with Pompeii is. In the afternoon we go to the picturesque Salt, the former capital of Jordan, where you can wander through the lovely narrow streets of the old town. Three Tour carries the Salt situated Holy Land Institute for the Deaf (HLID) a warm heart. We visit this institute and will thus know more about the wonderful work being done here.
In the morning we explore * Amman, capital of Jordan, where you find an interesting mix of antiques and modern. During a tour of the city we visit the citadel with the archaeological museum located on a hill. We also visit the ancient Roman theater. Around noon, transfer to Amman airport and the return flight to your country.
